Key Differences Between Beazley and Embroker

Application Convenience Does Not Establish Continuity

EMIS brings D&O, employment practices, fiduciary and eligible technology E&O/cyber into one application. Embroker names Everspan Indemnity for that program. Beazley’s posted MediaTech application names BICI, while Execuguard has its own coverage structure. Compare the proposed declarations and effective dates line by line: one application does not necessarily mean one shared limit or unchanged coverage from the expiring program. 29 2 10

Beazley’s older sample includes retroactive-date restrictions. Embroker’s general renewal FAQ says some products require new underwriting. Ask for an explicit continuity explanation when replacing either program, including how a claim about work performed before the switch would be reported. Neither a familiar broker nor a new application proves that earlier work carries over. 3 24

Resolve AI and IP at the Form Level

Embroker’s retail technology page lists IP exclusions, while its broker materials advertise software-code infringement coverage. Its AI endorsement announcement also needs to be matched to the particular EMIS or legacy quote. Beazley’s February 2019 MediaTech sample contains patent and product-related trade-secret exclusions. These public materials do not support a blanket comparison of which company covers AI or IP more broadly. 32 31 38 3

Give both underwriters examples of the product output, licensed code and customer indemnities. Request the endorsement itself and identify which alleged act would trigger each coverage section. An advertised algorithm-removal expense benefit addresses a specific cost; it is not a substitute for reviewing liability protection. 38 2

Higher Limits and Broker Changes Are Separate Decisions

Embroker’s retail FAQ says its excess technology product cannot sit over an Embroker primary policy. Its broker FAQ also warns that leaving can affect account functions and access to renew proprietary products. Beazley’s small-business MediaTech limit and renewal form do not establish a ready-made solution to either issue. Ask how the full program will be placed and serviced before moving only one piece. 32 24 1 4

What Should You Confirm in Beazley and Embroker Quotes?

  • Is this a legacy renewal, new EMIS application or new Beazley placement, and what changes in retroactive dates and reporting? 29 3
  • Which AI/IP endorsements apply to this product version, and how do they modify exclusions? 38 31 3
  • Who can place the needed excess and service the resulting program, with current California eligibility confirmed separately? 33 24 5

Beazley vs Embroker Services Compared

What each provider documents about the services you may need

CriteriaBeazleyEmbroker
Business role

Your policy comes from a Beazley underwriting company, not the service entity: Beazley is a specialty insurance group, while Beazley USA Services, Inc. reports doing business in California as Beazley Insurance Services under company-disclosed license 0G55497. The license was not independently verified. 5,6,7Company-reportedUS group and disclosed insurance-services entity; no regulator verification or product-specific producer appointment established.

A lawyers’ liability specimen names Embroker Insurance Services LLC as producer. Confirm the producer and insurer named for your own policy. 35Company-reportedProducer named in the lawyers’ liability specimen only. This fact does not establish ultimate ownership, the producer for every product or nationwide licensing.

Embroker offers its own programs directly and through other brokers; it may do underwriting work under insurer guidelines, but the insurer named in your policy carries the risk. 30,22Company-reportedProgram distribution and delegated work as described by the company. Not a finding of statutory MGA status or identical authority on every product.

The reviewed materials do not establish Embroker, Inc.’s ultimate beneficial ownership. 27Not found in reviewed sourcesUltimate beneficial ownership remains unresolved; the reviewed materials do not establish a current controlling parent. Funding or partnership is not ownership proof.

Access to insurers

Check the insurer named on your quote: Beazley’s Digital Media Tech application names Beazley Insurance Company, Inc., while other US business can use Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance, Inc. or Lloyd’s syndicates. These examples do not identify the issuer for every MediaTech quote. 2,7Company-reportedApplication F00859 042022 and general US toolkit disclosure; no blanket insurer assignment.

Check each policy’s insurer: Embroker names Everspan for EMIS and excess Tech E&O/Cyber, and Everest National for lawyers’ liability; these do not establish one carrier for all products. 29,33,34,35Company-reportedCurrent program marketing and LPL specimen; financial-strength ratings and admission status are not independently established, so no rating is assigned here.

Application process

Prepare company services, products, employee count, US and foreign revenue, financial statements and expected changes for a MediaTech application; Beazley accepts placement through third-party platforms or email, but submission is not acceptance or binding. 1,2Company-reportedPublished small-business placement description and F00859 042022; no application submitted or binding time tested.

Embroker provides an online quote entry; the reviewed observation establishes the entry point, not the fields collected. 46Company-reportedRead-only observation of the public quote entry at https://app.embroker.com/signup on 15 September 2026; no form submitted or account created.

An online account alone does not appoint Embroker as your broker; using its brokerage requires a broker-of-record appointment and usually exclusive work with Embroker for those services. 22Company-reportedTerms §2A; distinction between software access and brokerage engagement, not an interpretation of enforceability.

An application may need more underwriting details or be declined, and a quote alone does not start coverage. 22Company-reportedTerms §13. No quote or binding transaction performed.

Servicing and renewals

Do not assume renewal or service speed: Beazley publishes a MediaTech renewal application, but no guarantee, dedicated account manager or policy-change turnaround was established. 4,1Company-reportedPublic renewal document and service description; no policyholder account or service performance tested.

Small businesses under $35 million in revenue may consider Beazley’s broker myBeazley quote-and-bind route for eligible cyber accounts with limits up to $5 million; Full Spectrum Cyber combines breach response with security tools. These route criteria do not establish MediaTech eligibility. 9Company-reportedSmall-business Full Spectrum Cyber only; services, costs and entitlements depend on actual arrangements.

Existing policyholders may renew legacy management products, but new customers use EMIS; switching requires a new application, according to Embroker. 29Company-reportedLaunch announcement’s stated transition rules as of research date; not a renewal guarantee.

Broker-of-record clients can download policies and certificates from Embroker’s account; custom certificate wording may require a policy endorsement. 24Company-reportedFAQ Other insurance services; payment/down-payment conditions apply to first-time certificate access. Not independently tested in an authenticated account.

Check your renewal deadline: some Embroker policies renew through the insurer, while others require a fresh application and underwriting; the effective date on the new policy controls when protection starts. 24Company-reportedFAQ Renewals. No automatic-renewal promise across all products and no tested service response time.

Before switching brokers, check access to certificates, policy changes and renewal of proprietary products; Embroker says those account functions may end when its brokerage relationship ends. 24Company-reportedFAQ Engaging Embroker, What happens if I leave Embroker in the future? Not a finding that existing insurance cancels automatically on a broker change.
