Key Differences Between Coalition and Vouch

Hiscox’s Transaction Does Not Make the Vouch Broker Its Subsidiary

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 28,29Company-reportedAcquirer announcement covers both named entities; audited annual-report note 25 explicitly confirms Corix closing. Does not independently establish the separate carrier transfer date, regulatory approval or any particular policy migration.

The acquired program business and the current brokerage must remain distinct. A Corix application can help explain one available product, but cannot identify every insurer Vouch may propose. Coalition similarly distinguishes the CIS producer from its admitted insurer and non-admitted partners. Use the legal names on the proposal to identify a true policy alternative. 26 3

Selectable Modules Still Need Complete Wording

A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 33Company-reportedApplication CET 10–0054 03 25, page 1 of 10. Not a specimen insurance contract or evidence of terms on all Vouch placements. Claims-made notice and reporting conditions require full wording.

Coalition describes combined Tech E&O/cyber, and Corix describes professional and technology E&O with qualifications around AI, social engineering and intellectual property. Ask how defense costs, selected modules and exclusions interact on the actual proposals. A public application is useful underwriting evidence but is not the full contract. 1 32

Contract Advice and Security Work Are Separate Services

Vouch offers reviews of customer, lease and funding insurance requirements and describes claims advocacy for clients. Coalition supplies Control monitoring and describes shared cyber/Tech E&O claims handling. The practical comparison is which advisor reviews the business contract, which team manages the technical incident and which insurer determines coverage. Neither service catalogue demonstrates a superior claim outcome. 37 41 8 1

What Should You Confirm in Coalition and Vouch Quotes?

Ask Vouch which insurer and program it is proposing and whether the Corix application is relevant to that offer. Obtain the full cyber/E&O endorsements, defense-cost treatment and current California eligibility. If changing brokers, establish the continuing certificate, renewal and incident contacts before moving the relationship. 26 22 38 11

Coalition vs Vouch Services Compared

What each provider documents about the services you may need

CriteriaCoalitionVouch
Business role

Coalition buyers get cyber insurance and risk-management services, with the insurer responsible for policy obligations. In the US, Coalition Insurance Solutions, Inc. is the disclosed producer and surplus-lines broker. 2,7Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Before relying on a California quote, check the current producer authority: Coalition lists CIS license 0L76155, a company disclosure not independently confirmed with the state regulator. 2Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Coalition Security or independent providers may deliver security services; Coalition’s legal page identifies Coalition Incident Response, Inc. as its operator and says this entity is not an insurer. 2Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 20,26Company-reportedCurrent 6 August 2025 disclosure takes precedence over the older Terms of Use for current broker identity. No independent corporate registry or license finding implied.

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 30,20,21Company-reportedCompany-reported legal-name continuity. Older Vouch terms still list both producers; do not conflate their NPNs or infer current underwriting ownership from the older name.

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 31,29Conflicting sourcesConflict is retained and resolved for the article using later transaction evidence; no conclusion that the distribution agreement ended.

Access to insurers

Ask who will issue your policy because admitted cyber uses Coalition Insurance Company while surplus placements use unaffiliated insurers; reviewed sources do not identify one insurer for every California Tech E&O quote. 3,2Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 31Company-reportedCompany-described insurer relationships only, not independent verification of admitted status or product authority. No current complete Vouch product/carrier/state matrix found.

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 45Company-reportedApplication SML 10-0002 03 25, printed page 1 of 13, linked from the current management liability product page. This identifies one public program application, not the insurer for every Vouch D&O or employment practices placement.

Servicing and renewals

Coalition policyholders can use Control at no additional cost for attack-surface and vendor-risk monitoring, vulnerability alerts and guidance; Login Security requires connecting Microsoft or Google, and Coalition sells other security products separately. 8Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Plan renewal work early: Coalition says cyber renewals start 90 days before expiry and may be Automatic, Express or Standard. Express renewals need your responses, Standard renewals need a bind order and an updated signed application, and automatic renewal does not guarantee the same premium. 15Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 36,37Company-reportedService descriptions; no independent proof of completeness, savings or satisfaction of a specific contract.

Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 38,39Company-reportedPublished COI workflow and distinction between holder and additional insured. Account access and turnaround not tested.

Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 26,40Company-reportedCarrier-options service description and 30 July 2025 educational guide. Exact renewal contact cadence and renewal terms not disclosed in these sources.

Claims assistance

Coalition describes in-house cyber triage and attempts to recover stolen funds, with the same team handling Tech E&O; these service descriptions do not establish response quality or payment for a loss. 9,1Company-reportedUnited States; official company materials inspected on 2026-09-16. No independent insurance or regulatory verification.

Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 41,42Company-reportedService/claims-role descriptions, not independently observed performance or a guarantee of claim acceptance. No implication of free legal representation.

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 43,44,42Company-reportedForm retrieved through web text; browser screenshot blocked by security challenge. No submission, loss report or receipt tested. Policy-specific notice requirements not established by availability of broker form.
