Crime insurance in New Hampshire: check employee and payment-order definitions
Start by identifying losses that would strain your business: employee theft of money or property, forged checks, cash in transit, or a wire redirected after email impersonation. New Hampshire's current UCC chapter includes certain retained contractors in the check-endorsement rule and says a known email, IP address, or phone alone is not a bank security procedure. Neither rule decides what your crime policy covers. Compare the form's actual grants, limits, and reporting duties.
What Is Crime Insurance?
Crime insurance can help reimburse specified business losses from theft and fraud, including employee theft and forgery. Compare those protections separately and ask whether a payment sent after an impersonation scam is covered. Read the national Crime guide.
What Should You Watch for With Crime Insurance in New Hampshire?
Tell the broker who handles instruments
RSA 382-A:3-405 includes an independent contractor and an employee of an independent contractor retained by the employer within “employee” for its fraudulent-endorsement rule. Responsibility includes signing, processing, preparing, supplying payee information, and controlling instruments; mere access to stored, transported, or mailed checks is excluded. This commercial-law allocation does not prove that a contractor meets your policy's employee definition or that a resulting loss is covered. 1
Confirm more than a known address with the bank
RSA 382-A:4A-201 defines a security procedure as one established by agreement with the receiving bank and says signature comparison or requiring orders from a known email, IP address, or phone number alone is not a security procedure. The operative text reflects 2022 chapter 281, §27, effective January 1, 2023. Ask the bank for the entire procedure and review any insurer verification condition separately. 2
Report a suspected transfer loss without waiting
RSA 382-A:4A-204 sets a customer-bank notice rule for unauthorized payment orders: failure to use ordinary care and notify the bank within a reasonable time capped at 90 days after bank notice removes interest on a refund, while late notification alone does not entitle the bank to recover from the customer. That rule does not set the policy's claim deadline. The FBI advises immediate bank contact and an IC3 report for BEC. 3,4
Which Crime Insurance Providers Have New Hampshire License Records?
These providers publish a national listing for Crime; the state records document licenses for the entities and roles shown below. Some records rely on company-reported information rather than independent regulator verification. A national listing does not confirm the product is available in New Hampshire. Check the regulator’s license lookup and confirm state availability for your business when requesting a quote.

Corgi
Corgi Insurance Services, Inc.
Corgi’s company producer-license table lists 50 jurisdictions: 49 states and the District of Columbia, including DC license 3003091619. New Mexico does not appear in the table and is not included here; the omission does not establish that Corgi is unlicensed there. The company-reported table has no stated as-of date and does not establish product availability. 14
Corgi lists crime insurance among its main policies.
Vouch
Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC
Vouch’s licenses page, effective January 16, 2025, lists producer licenses in all 50 states and DC. Its separate surplus-lines table includes Idaho number 870820, while a footnote says Georgia and Idaho do not issue agency-level surplus-lines licenses. Because those statements conflict for Idaho, this record keeps Idaho producer-only and does not treat the table number as established agency surplus-lines authority. The page is company-reported and does not establish product availability. 18
As of September 16, 2026, Vouch lists crime among the coverages in its technology-company programs.

What Should You Ask Before Buying Crime Insurance in New Hampshire?
- How does the policy define employee for independent contractors, temporary workers, and outsourced bookkeepers or payment processors?
- Which grant and limit applies if an employee steals company property, alters a check, or sends a wire after a spoofed vendor request?
- Does the bank's written security procedure include a callback or verification step, and does the quote impose a matching condition?
- What discovery, notice, proof-of-loss, and cooperation periods apply to the insurance claim?
- How are cash in transit, employee theft, computer fraud, and social engineering limited or retained?
Crime Insurance in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
Is a known email or phone enough to constitute a security procedure under New Hampshire's UCC?
No. RSA 382-A:4A-201 says requiring a payment order from a known email, IP address, or phone number, or signature comparison alone, is not by itself a security procedure. 2
Does RSA 382-A:4A-204 give a 90-day window to report the loss to the insurer?
No. It addresses notice to the receiving bank and interest on a potential refund. The policy contains separate insurer-notice and proof-of-loss terms. 3
