Key Differences Between TechInsurance and Vouch

Review the Funding Requirements Before Selecting Products

Vouch offers a complimentary review comparing existing coverage with peer programs and a separate contract-requirement review. TechInsurance lists D&O, employment practices and technology E&O/cyber, with agent guidance available. Both are routes for asking about a growing program, but ask TechInsurance whether it offers a comparable recurring review assignment. Ask for the actual deliverable needed by the board rather than assuming a new quote includes it. 30 31 6 2

Peer benchmarking is context for discussion, not proof that a proposed limit or exclusion suits this business. Give each advisor the investor and customer requirements and ask which are met, which require negotiation and which remain uninsured. Vouch’s service description does not guarantee every gap will be found. 30 7

Vouch Brokerage Is Separate from the Corix Transaction

Vouch’s current broker is Vouch Specialty Insurance Services. Corix is the former Vouch Insurance Services entity, and Hiscox’s later report records the Corix acquisition. That does not make Hiscox the parent of the current Vouch brokerage or the issuer of every Vouch placement. 14 24 22 23

TechInsurance likewise must be separated from its Insureon/HUB affiliation and from insurers on its partner list. If either broker presents a familiar program name, request the exact issuer and form rather than inferring continuity from branding. Corix product applications are evidence about those programs, not all options Vouch may arrange. 2 8 20 27

Decide Who Will Advocate After Placement

Vouch describes claims advocacy at no cost to clients, including a dedicated advocate and carrier communication. TechInsurance’s claims guidance describes insurer reporting and agent help finding information. Ask for the scope of assistance on a disputed technology or management claim; the broader published advocacy description is not comparative evidence of payment quality. 35 36 11

Vouch’s no-cost advocacy statement should also be kept separate from its commissions and payment charges. TechInsurance’s SPG disclosure allows several compensation types. Request the total cost of the proposed engagement with the advisory services identified explicitly. 14 10

What Should You Confirm in TechInsurance and Vouch Quotes?

  • Ask each advisor to map the funding and customer requirements to actual D&O and technology forms. 31 6
  • Identify the current producer, issuing insurer and program version, especially where Vouch or Corix appears in older paperwork. 14 24 9
  • Specify claims-advocacy duties, renewal coordination and all compensation without interpreting complimentary review as free insurance service throughout. 35 14 10

TechInsurance vs Vouch Services Compared

What each provider documents about the services you may need

CriteriaTechInsuranceVouch
Business role

Small businesses can use TechInsurance to compare quotes and work with agents; it operates as an agency and brokerage. Its legal disclosure identifies it as a division of Specialty Program Group LLC, doing business in California as SPG Insurance Solutions. 3,9,10Company-reportedBrand and disclosed producer entity; company sources, not independent regulatory verification.

TechInsurance describes itself as part of Insureon and HUB International. Its history says HUB acquired Insureon’s digital agency in 2022 while Bold Penguin acquired the technology platform; HUB’s acquisition announcement placed the agency operations within Specialty Program Group. 2,3,12Company-reportedCurrent company relationship descriptions plus historical acquisition announcement; does not make HUB or Bold Penguin the policy insurer.

Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 14,20Company-reportedCurrent 6 August 2025 disclosure takes precedence over the older Terms of Use for current broker identity. No independent corporate registry or license finding implied.

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 24,14,15Company-reportedCompany-reported legal-name continuity. Older Vouch terms still list both producers; do not conflate their NPNs or infer current underwriting ownership from the older name.

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 22,23Company-reportedAcquirer announcement covers both named entities; audited annual-report note 25 explicitly confirms Corix closing. Does not independently establish the separate carrier transfer date, regulatory approval or any particular policy migration.

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 25,23Conflicting sourcesConflict is retained and resolved for the article using later transaction evidence; no conclusion that the distribution agreement ended.

Application process

TechInsurance describes a single application for comparing multiple insurance quotes, followed by policy purchase and online coverage management, with licensed-agent guidance available. 2Company-reportedPublic application description; no application submitted or quote obtained.

TechInsurance’s account instructions warn that quotes may take time to appear after an application is submitted; an application is not confirmation of bound coverage. 3Company-reportedPublic quote-account instructions; no universal turnaround time established.

Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 18Company-reportedChrome observation of public first screen only. No personal or business data entered, account created, consent accepted or application submitted. Later steps not tested.

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 20Company-reportedCompany-described authenticated comparison experience; not tested. This is curated brokerage access, not proof of whole-market coverage.

Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 19,21Company-reportedTechnology FAQ and June 2026 educational binding guide; no actual application or bind completed. No guaranteed turnaround adopted.

Access to insurers

TechInsurance names insurance partners including The Hartford, Hiscox, Chubb and Travelers. These are examples of marketed relationships, not the identified contracting insurer for a quote; ask for the exact issuing entity and its California placement route. 8Company-reportedPartner names are commercial brands; no policy declarations or product-specific insurer allocation inspected.

Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 25Company-reportedCompany-described insurer relationships only, not independent verification of admitted status or product authority. No current complete Vouch product/carrier/state matrix found.

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 39Company-reportedApplication SML 10-0002 03 25, printed page 1 of 13, linked from the current management liability product page. This identifies one public program application, not the insurer for every Vouch D&O or employment practices placement.

Servicing and renewals

TechInsurance says it provides a dedicated account manager and online certificate access. Its instructions require an active policy for a certificate request and direct urgent requests to the account manager. 1,3Company-reportedDocumented service description, not tested service speed or quality.

The reviewed About and Contact pages do not establish a renewal remarketing schedule, a contractual response-time commitment, or the scope of dedicated support for a complex growth-stage insurance program. 2,3Not publicly disclosedScoped public-information gap; does not establish that these services are unavailable.

Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 30,31Company-reportedService descriptions; no independent proof of completeness, savings or satisfaction of a specific contract.

Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 32,33Company-reportedPublished COI workflow and distinction between holder and additional insured. Account access and turnaround not tested.

Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 20,34Company-reportedCarrier-options service description and 30 July 2025 educational guide. Exact renewal contact cadence and renewal terms not disclosed in these sources.

Claims assistance

TechInsurance’s claims guidance generally directs customers to the insurance carrier. It says its agents can help locate policy information or the insurer’s contact details; it does not establish that TechInsurance adjusts claims or guarantees an outcome. 11Company-reportedEducational claims instructions used only for the explicitly described agent-contact service, not evidence of coverage or claims quality.

Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 35,36Company-reportedService/claims-role descriptions, not independently observed performance or a guarantee of claim acceptance. No implication of free legal representation.

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 37,38,36Company-reportedForm retrieved through web text; browser screenshot blocked by security challenge. No submission, loss report or receipt tested. Policy-specific notice requirements not established by availability of broker form.
