Key Differences Between Embroker and RiskCube

A New Suite Is Not a Routine Renewal

Technology companies can include Tech E&O/Cyber with D&O, EPL and fiduciary coverages in Embroker’s August 2026 Management Insurance Suite, selecting individual lines or a bundle. 9Company-reported. 19 August 2026 launch, new-business product. Company report of structure, not policy wording or proof of same-session binding.

Existing policyholders may renew legacy management products, but new customers use EMIS; switching requires a new application, according to Embroker. 9Company-reported. Launch announcement’s stated transition rules as of research date; not a renewal guarantee.

RiskCube describes gathering the startup’s product, revenue and contract information to compare insurers. Put the incumbent renewal alongside both new-business proposals and ask what happens to prior work, claims reporting and existing endorsements. Embroker’s stated ability to renew legacy products does not make a migration to EMIS automatic, and a new broker’s comparison does not establish continuity on its own. 33 32 9

AI Endorsements Need a Product Version

Embroker describes an AI endorsement for eligible technology E&O/cyber quotes, but its announcement references a Startup Program and leaves applicability to a particular EMIS or legacy quote to be confirmed. Its retail and broker pages also differ in their description of intellectual-property coverage. RiskCube markets AI liability and an excess response to AI gaps without a specimen or issuing insurer established in the shared research. Neither description justifies treating all AI-related IP or performance claims as covered. 18 12 11 31 33

Embroker’s broker Tech E&O/Cyber appetite excludes crypto and blockchain businesses. RiskCube markets to Web3 as a customer segment, but that is not an insurer’s acceptance of any particular blockchain activity. A company combining AI and digital assets should disclose both rather than obtaining a software quote on an incomplete description. 11 32

More Limit May Require Another Placement

Embroker’s excess program requires qualifying underlying technology E&O and does not accept cyber-only primary coverage. Its retail FAQ says that excess product cannot sit above an Embroker primary. RiskCube’s offered AI excess placement addresses a different stated problem: gaps in AI coverage. Additional limit and broader protection are separate objectives, and neither excess label establishes compatibility with the proposed underlying policy. 13 12 33

The Broker Change Can Affect Future Access

Embroker says moving to another broker removes account certificate and policy-change functions; a replacement broker outside Embroker Access may not be able to renew proprietary products. RiskCube describes its own policy-management platform, but that does not demonstrate access to Embroker’s programs. Before appointing a new broker, identify who can service the existing term and obtain its next renewal. 4 27

Both compensation disclosures allow commissions and client fees, with RiskCube’s fee-free marketing requiring clarification. Ask for the economics of retaining, migrating and remarketing the account separately; free software is not a complete statement of insurance costs. 3 29 27

What Should You Confirm in Embroker and RiskCube Quotes?

  • Is the Embroker option a legacy renewal or new EMIS application, and which AI endorsement version accompanies it? 9 18
  • How do the actual forms address software-code infringement, generated content and the company’s disclosed AI or blockchain activities? 11 12 33
  • Will the proposed excess sit above the selected primary, and does it add limits, address a gap, or both? 13 33
  • Who retains access to proprietary renewals and policy changes after any broker-of-record transfer? 4 30

Embroker vs RiskCube Services Compared

What each provider documents about the services you may need

CriteriaEmbrokerRiskCube
Business role

A lawyers’ liability specimen names Embroker Insurance Services LLC as producer. Confirm the producer and insurer named for your own policy. 15Company-reported. Producer named in the lawyers’ liability specimen only. This fact does not establish ultimate ownership, the producer for every product or nationwide licensing.

Embroker offers its own programs directly and through other brokers; it may do underwriting work under insurer guidelines, but the insurer named in your policy carries the risk. 10,2Company-reported. Program distribution and delegated work as described by the company. Not a finding of statutory MGA status or identical authority on every product.

The reviewed materials do not establish Embroker, Inc.’s ultimate beneficial ownership. 7Not found in reviewed sources. Ultimate beneficial ownership remains unresolved; the reviewed materials do not establish a current controlling parent. Funding or partnership is not ownership proof.

RiskCube helps startups compare insurance through a broker and platform; RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC arranges coverage, while third-party insurers issue policies. 30,29Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

Access to insurers

Check each policy’s insurer: Embroker names Everspan for EMIS and excess Tech E&O/Cyber, and Everest National for lawyers’ liability; these do not establish one carrier for all products. 9,13,14,15Company-reported. Current program marketing and LPL specimen; financial-strength ratings and admission status are not independently established, so no rating is assigned here.

RiskCube says it compares multiple insurers, but does not identify the carrier for a specific California applicant; ask for the insurer and surplus-lines status. 27,30,29,31Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

Application process

Embroker provides an online quote entry; the reviewed observation establishes the entry point, not the fields collected. 26Company-reported. Read-only observation of the public quote entry at https://app.embroker.com/signup on 15 September 2026; no form submitted or account created.

An online account alone does not appoint Embroker as your broker; using its brokerage requires a broker-of-record appointment and usually exclusive work with Embroker for those services. 2Company-reported. Terms §2A; distinction between software access and brokerage engagement, not an interpretation of enforceability.

An application may need more underwriting details or be declined, and a quote alone does not start coverage. 2Company-reported. Terms §13. No quote or binding transaction performed.

RiskCube describes a digital intake followed by AI-assisted, broker-reviewed comparison and purchase, but the application reviewed showed only a contact form. 27,37Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

Technology E&O applicants should prepare product, customer, revenue, contract, claims and incident details; RiskCube qualifies quote timing based on risk and underwriting complexity. 33Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

A quote is not coverage: RiskCube requires written confirmation from an insurer or authorized representative and satisfaction of binding conditions. 30Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

Servicing and renewals

Existing policyholders may renew legacy management products, but new customers use EMIS; switching requires a new application, according to Embroker. 9Company-reported. Launch announcement’s stated transition rules as of research date; not a renewal guarantee.

Broker-of-record clients can download policies and certificates from Embroker’s account; custom certificate wording may require a policy endorsement. 4Company-reported. FAQ Other insurance services; payment/down-payment conditions apply to first-time certificate access. Not independently tested in an authenticated account.

Check your renewal deadline: some Embroker policies renew through the insurer, while others require a fresh application and underwriting; the effective date on the new policy controls when protection starts. 4Company-reported. FAQ Renewals. No automatic-renewal promise across all products and no tested service response time.

Before switching brokers, check access to certificates, policy changes and renewal of proprietary products; Embroker says those account functions may end when its brokerage relationship ends. 4Company-reported. FAQ Engaging Embroker, What happens if I leave Embroker in the future? Not a finding that existing insurance cancels automatically on a broker change.

RiskCube says its platform supports policies, certificates and renewal notices; a certificate does not change policy coverage. 27,30Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

RiskCube says it reviews vendor insurance requirements and requested endorsements, but warns AI-assisted output may be incomplete; verify each contract term yourself. 32,30Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification.

Fees and compensation

Ask whether your quote includes commissions, contingent or supplemental compensation, or client fees; Embroker says its software is free but insurance services may generate these payments, agreed before binding. 3Company-reported. Compensation disclosure; no policy-specific rate or amount established. Free software does not mean free insurance or zero distribution compensation.

Get payment-processing and finance costs separately from broker compensation because processors and premium-finance lenders may charge their own fees. 2Company-reported. Terms §§2A and 22; no specific financing offer reviewed.

Get the total price and compensation in writing: RiskCube advertises no added broker fee but also allows service and processing fees, insurer/intermediary commissions and incentives. 27,32,29Conflicting sources. Marketing/legal disclosure tension; not a finding that any individual client has been charged an undisclosed fee. No specific commission rate or service fee schedule established.
