RiskCube vs
Travelers: How Do They Compare for Business Insurance?
RiskCube brokers startup coverage but does not document Travelers access; Travelers offers CyberRisk Tech and international products through agents.
Introduction to the RiskCube vs Travelers Comparison
If you want a Travelers policy, ask an independent agent whether it fits your class and operations; the reviewed materials do not establish that RiskCube can submit to Travelers. RiskCube offers startup brokerage, while Travelers markets CyberRisk Tech and international products through producers. Choose RiskCube to search startup markets; choose a Travelers agent to request its technology coverage. 4 19 13

Travelers Buyer Takeaways
- Startups and established tech companies can explore CyberRisk Tech, which can combine cyber and technology E&O. 13,16,14Company-reported. Company-described audiences on technology and small-business pages. Marketing to a class is not underwriting approval, and eligibility remains quote-specific.
- Buy through an independent agent; many small accounts can be quoted and issued in an agent platform, while specialty technology risks need underwriting. 18,35,13,15,41,34Company-reported. Application path described on contact, agent-locator, technology and 10-K sources. Automated small-commercial issuance is not evidence that a technology, D&O or cyber submission will quote or bind the same way.

Read Travelers reviewsKey Differences Between RiskCube and Travelers
Global Coverage Is Not a Universal Local Policy
Travelers lists Global Companion Plus+ alongside domestic technology products. Its global technology page describes the US product as non-admitted, while the broader global page distinguishes it from controlled master programs. A company adding foreign operations should identify the actual arrangement being proposed rather than assuming a global label supplies local admitted coverage everywhere. 31 32
RiskCube’s startup catalogue does not settle a country-specific program design. Supply the same operations and entity schedule to the broker and ask what it can arrange; the absence of a named global product in its published catalogue is not evidence that the broker cannot help. 5 4
Technology and Excess Labels Need Their Own Comparisons
Travelers’ CyberRisk Tech describes technology E&O, cyber and related insuring agreements. RiskCube markets technology E&O and AI-related placements, including excess intended to address AI gaps. Compare those offered wordings directly; the RiskCube excess description should not be treated as general commercial umbrella coverage. 15 7 5
Travelers separately markets commercial umbrella and says it typically requires underlying Travelers primary coverage. That dependency matters when a broker proposes splitting the program among insurers. Confirm the required underlying policies before treating an excess quote as freely interchangeable with another layer. 38
Carrier Authorization and Portal Features Have Boundaries
California regulator records confirm authorization for two named Travelers insurers, but confirm separately whether a given CyberRisk Tech or global product is actually eligible in California. RiskCube’s published producer identifier is company-reported and does not identify the eventual insurer. Read the binder for the legal issuer and placement status of each policy. 42 43 31 2
MyTravelers advertises policy and claims functions, but real-time certificates are listed without a segment footnote; adding additional interests and displaying limits, deductibles and policy changes are separately limited by account segment. RiskCube describes platform certificates and contract review. A buyer with urgent overseas customer requirements should confirm the actual certificate and endorsement workflow for the offered account, rather than assuming every portal feature applies. 30 6
What Should You Confirm in RiskCube and Travelers Quotes?
- Which countries and entities are addressed by the proposed global arrangement, and are any local policies separately required? 31 32
- What underlying policies must remain in place for the umbrella or excess layer, and how are AI activities treated? 38 7
- Who issues requested certificates and endorsements, and what producer compensation or client fees accompany the placement? Travelers’ producer-payment disclosure and RiskCube’s possible charges should be read together if both are involved. 30 19 3
RiskCube vs Travelers Services Compared
What each provider documents about the services you may need
| Criteria | RiskCube | Travelers |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | RiskCube helps startups compare insurance through a broker and platform; RiskCube Insurance Services, LLC arranges coverage, while third-party insurers issue policies. 4,3Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. | Travelers sells property-and-casualty insurance through its operating subsidiaries; The Travelers Companies, Inc. is the holding company, not the policy issuer. Policies may name The Travelers Indemnity Company or another affiliate. 40,41,33,19Verified. Group role as of 16 September 2026. The legal insurer on a buyer’s policy is the company named in that policy or binder, which can differ by product and state. Travelers says it primarily sells U.S. insurance through independent agents and brokers, whom it calls producers and who are not Travelers employees. It also owns Simply Business, Inc. and InsuraMatch, LLC, licensed digital independent agencies it says operate nationwide. 19,18,41Company-reported. U.S. distribution disclosure. Ownership of digital agencies does not establish that those agencies place technology business insurance for a given buyer, including in California. |
| Access to insurers | RiskCube says it compares multiple insurers, but does not identify the carrier for a specific California applicant; ask for the insurer and surplus-lines status. 1,4,3,5Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. | Travelers is the brand. Product footers name The Travelers Indemnity Company and its property-casualty affiliates, and Bond & Specialty pages name Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America and affiliates. Umbrella materials also describe Northfield excess-and-surplus coverage for some hard-to-place risks. The issuing company, admitted or surplus status, and any fronting or network partner remain quote-specific. 19,37,21,38,31Company-reported. Entities named on current marketing and compensation pages. This research does not assign one issuer to the entire technology catalogue or to California placements. |
| Availability | Before a California quote, verify RiskCube Insurance Services’ current license 6017028, insurer and any surplus-lines path; the company publishes identifiers, not independent status or product eligibility. 2,4Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. | Travelers describes Business Insurance as offered primarily in the United States, with additional operations in the United Kingdom, Ireland and other markets including Lloyd’s. Domestic business insurance is marketed through independent agents and brokers rather than as a single nationwide self-serve shop for every product. 41,40,33Company-reported. Group geographic description from the 2025 Form 10-K and investor profile. Primary-U.S. operations do not mean every product is available in every state. California’s insurance department lists The Travelers Indemnity Company (NAIC 25658) and Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America (NAIC 31194) as property-and-casualty insurers with Unlimited-Normal licenses. Travelers’ agent directory also lists agencies in California. Those facts do not establish that a specific technology product, CyberRisk Tech form, BOP class or Global Companion Plus+ coverage is available or admitted for a particular California risk. 42,43,36,31Verified. Admitted-insurer authorization and a public agency directory as of 16 September 2026. No product-by-product California eligibility schedule was found on the reviewed technology pages. U.S. Global Companion Plus+ is described by Travelers as non-admitted and not equivalent to a local admitted policy. |
| Application process | RiskCube describes a digital intake followed by AI-assisted, broker-reviewed comparison and purchase, but the application reviewed showed only a contact form. 1,11Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. Technology E&O applicants should prepare product, customer, revenue, contract, claims and incident details; RiskCube qualifies quote timing based on risk and underwriting complexity. 7Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. A quote is not coverage: RiskCube requires written confirmation from an insurer or authorized representative and satisfaction of binding conditions. 4Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. | Travelers tells business buyers to get a quote through an independent agent, using a public agency locator. Its 2025 Form 10-K says Select Accounts uses an automated underwriting platform so agents can quote, bind and issue a substantial amount of small-business risks, while more complex risks are underwritten with company personnel. Technology and CyberRisk Tech pages likewise tell buyers to consult an agent or Travelers representative; a direct public bind path for technology packages was not found on the reviewed pages. 18,35,13,15,41,34Company-reported. Application path described on contact, agent-locator, technology and 10-K sources. Automated small-commercial issuance is not evidence that a technology, D&O or cyber submission will quote or bind the same way. |
| Servicing and renewals | RiskCube says its platform supports policies, certificates and renewal notices; a certificate does not change policy coverage. 1,4Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. RiskCube says it reviews vendor insurance requirements and requested endorsements, but warns AI-assisted output may be incomplete; verify each contract term yourself. 6,4Company-reported. Official public RiskCube materials reviewed on September 16, 2026; company statements, not independent regulatory or policy verification. | MyTravelers for Business lists online bill payment, claim reporting and tracking, policy documents and certificates. The page lists real-time certificates without a segment footnote. Footnote 1 qualifies display of limits, deductibles and policy changes for Select Accounts and National Programs Commercial Multi-Peril customers. Footnote 2 limits adding additional interests while creating a certificate to Select Accounts and National Programs Commercial Multi-Peril Service Center customers. 30,18Company-reported. Portal and contact descriptions as of 16 September 2026. Feature availability can differ by account segment; this is not a service-quality finding. |
