Consulting Work, Hosted Software and Cyber
Kinro’s policy-review page accepts the current policy or renewal packet, and its professional-liability guide asks for services, contracts, prior claims and retroactive dates. Use that starting point to distinguish the consultancy’s earlier advice from its new hosted service. Request a comparison of the insured-services definition and prior-work treatment, rather than simply seeking another policy called E&O. 4 14
Vouch’s technology page names technology errors and omissions and cyber separately. Its carrier-options materials describe advisors explaining differences in wording, exclusions and price. Ask whether the proposed program combines the two, uses separate policies, or leaves particular activities outside the selected coverage. The technology practice is a documented area of service, not evidence that every software-related allegation is covered. 28 29
Kinro’s cyber guide asks about data, backups, multi-factor authentication and vendor access. Those facts remain important whichever broker presents the proposal. If the hosted product depends on another provider’s infrastructure, include that dependency in the submission and ask how the proposed business-interruption and liability wording treats it. No guide or product label establishes the answer for the company. 15 29
Customer Contracts, Certificates and Board Coverage
Vouch offers reviews of customer agreements, leases and funding requirements. Kinro’s consultant page also offers help with client insurance clauses. Both services give the consultancy a starting point for checking the insurance clause. Give both the same clause and ask for a written explanation of what the present insurance satisfies, what requires a change and what remains unresolved. 40 17
A certificate may be only one of the requested documents. Vouch explains that certificate-holder status differs from additional-insured protection, which depends on the policy and endorsements. For the enterprise customer, ask whether the requested rights are actually available under the proposed policy and when any endorsement will be issued. Kinro’s placement service lists certificates and endorsements as separate responsibilities to allocate when another agent participates. 42 9
If a financing round also adds a board, Kinro’s D&O guide asks for funding, ownership, debt and board information; Vouch markets D&O and reviews funding requirements. Keep that leadership proposal distinct from the software contract. Ask which people, entities and coverage parts are selected rather than treating all management risks as an automatic component of the technology policy. 16 28 40
Continuity, Insurers and Binding
Kinro says it shops the market at renewal. Vouch describes coordinating renewal cycles across carriers, with guidance to review changed operations and retroactive dates. If the consultancy changes insurers as it launches the product, request the expiring and proposed forms together and ask how earlier advice, later allegations and reporting deadlines are treated. A new start date alone doesn’t cover past work, so confirm retroactive protection explicitly. 1 14 29 43
Vouch’s current producer is Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC. Its historical connection to Corix does not make every policy a Corix program or identify one issuer for all buyers. Kinro’s access likewise depends on approved market relationships. Ask each broker for the legal insurer and program behind the actual proposal and for written binding confirmation, not only the application status. 23 29 30 10 9
Review Fees, Placement Costs and Claims Help
Kinro offers a free policy review but discloses potential placement compensation. Vouch’s coverage review is described as complimentary, while its legal disclosure identifies commissions, possible performance compensation and payment or financing costs. Neither initial review prices the eventual insurance arrangement. Ask for total annual costs with limits, deductibles and wording changes shown beside them. 4 18 39 23
For the hosted-product launch, a lower premium with a narrower services definition or a larger retention—the amount the business must bear under the policy—may change the tradeoff substantially. Ask the broker to separate pricing improvements on equivalent terms from changes in protection. Ask which explanation actually applies to your quote. A public market comparison alone won’t tell you. 18 29
Vouch advertises a dedicated claims advocate at no cost to clients. Kinro doesn’t publish a dedicated reporting procedure. Ask both for the insurer’s cyber incident contact, the professional-liability notice route and the broker’s role if one event raises questions under both policies. Advocacy and routing help do not decide coverage or prove claims quality. 44 45 19 9
What Should You Confirm in Kinro and Vouch Quotes?
- Old and new services comparison: map consulting, hosted software and third-party dependencies to the proposed professional and cyber wording. 14 15 28
- Contract response: request the requirement review, actual endorsements and certificate as separate documents. 17 40 42
- Continuity schedule: identify insurer, retroactive date, reporting conditions and binding date for each replacement. 14 43
- Total-cost and support scope: list commissions, buyer charges, retained amounts and claim-notice contacts, with any funding-related D&O proposal separately specified. 18 16 23 44
Kinro vs Vouch Services Compared
What each provider documents about the services you may need
| Criteria | Kinro | Vouch |
|---|---|---|
| Customer focus | Kinro helps U.S. small businesses identify insurance needs and compare available options through an agency. You can start with business questions online or ask for help by phone, text, email, or chat. 1,19Company-reported. Current retail offering at kinro.com; documented function, not independently tested placement or service outcomes. | Vouch is a business insurance broker and risk advisor for growing companies. Its customers include startups and established businesses in technology, healthcare and life sciences, professional services, and financial services. Buyers can start an application online and work with advisors to arrange coverage. 22,27,28Company-reported. Current website positioning, not verified customer counts or eligibility for every business. |
| Application process | You can begin Kinro’s public four-step quote intake without a login by selecting your business activity; later steps, pricing and binding were not inspected. 2Company-reported. Observed initial unauthenticated interface in Chrome; no answers, personal information, uploads, account creation or submissions. Later access requirements unknown. Kinro says AI gathers business details and presents available quote options with licensed-agent help; its roughly two-minute follow-up is a company response-time claim, not a quote or binding deadline. 1Company-reported. Homepage FAQ and response claim; no interactions submitted or timing study performed. You can ask Kinro for a free review by uploading up to three policy or renewal files; its promise to find better pricing with equal or more coverage is company-reported, and no replacement quote was tested. 4Company-reported. Public upload entry screen only; no documents uploaded and no service or outcome verification. | Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. 27Company-reported. Chrome observation of public first screen only. No personal or business data entered, account created, consent accepted or application submitted. Later steps not tested. Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. 29Company-reported. Company-described authenticated comparison experience; not tested. This is curated brokerage access, not proof of whole-market coverage. Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. 28,30Company-reported. Technology FAQ and June 2026 educational binding guide; no actual application or bind completed. No guaranteed turnaround adopted. |
| Coverage lines | Small businesses can shop for GL, BOP, workers’ comp, auto, trucking, property, equipment, HNOA, umbrella, professional liability, cyber and D&O; categories do not guarantee eligibility or a single package. 3Company-reported. Advertised product catalogue for U.S. businesses. No specimen contract, issuing-insurer mapping or state-specific eligibility inferred. Eligible businesses can compare a BOP combining general liability and business property; Kinro’s intake asks about premises, inventory, equipment and required limits. 12Company-reported. Company product overview, not policy wording; no finding about business interruption, catastrophe coverage or particular insurer terms. For E&O, be ready to describe your services, customers, contracts, claims and current policy; for cyber, Kinro asks about data, MFA, backups, vendor access and incidents. 14,15Company-reported. Published inputs, not a tested underwriting process or guarantee of cyber incident, funds-transfer, professional or technology coverage. Companies with investors, boards or financing conditions can consider D&O; Kinro’s guide asks about funding, ownership, board, debt and claims, and flags EPL, fiduciary and crime as related questions. 16Company-reported. Product guidance; companion lines are not automatically included. Ask for insurer-specific forms and terms before buying; reviewed guides do not name the insurer or provide specimen forms, so limits, deductibles and exclusions remain proposal details. 11,12,14,15,16Not found in reviewed sources. Scoped to cited current product pages; no claim that forms are unavailable on request or elsewhere. | Vouch lists technology errors and omissions, cyber liability, directors and officers, general liability, workers’ compensation, employment practices liability, key person, crime, product liability and umbrella coverage for technology companies. The list describes options, not a package that automatically includes every line. 28Company-reported. Current Core coverages for Technology list. No limits, insuring agreements or class/state eligibility inferred from labels. A public Corix Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty Insurance Company and offers selectable cyber, errors and omissions, and media liability coverage. Its first page describes claims-made liability coverage and says defense costs reduce the available limit unless the policy is endorsed otherwise. 36Company-reported. Application CET 10–0054 03 25, page 1 of 10. Not a specimen insurance contract or evidence of terms on all Vouch placements. Claims-made notice and reporting conditions require full wording. Corix’s other documented programs include management liability with directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary options, and a commercial package with general liability, property, hired and non-owned auto, and employee benefits liability options. 37,38Company-reported. Corix product summaries; distribution relationship does not guarantee Vouch access to every module for every risk. The reviewed Vouch pages and Corix materials did not establish a complete current policy form, endorsement set or insurer-by-product schedule for a new Vouch buyer. Ask for those documents with the proposal, especially when a quoted policy comes from a different insurer or program. 24,29,35,37,38,36,48Not found in reviewed sources. Reviewed current Vouch legal/technology/carrier pages; Corix product pages, linked June 2025 product guides and cyber and management applications. Guides/applications are not complete policy forms. Not a finding that documents cannot be obtained. Corix’s cyber/E&O page describes system-failure business interruption and a form combining professional and technology E&O. It also warns that social engineering, AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can have conditions, sublimits or exclusions. 35Company-reported. Corix product-page highlights and qualification paragraphs; not complete policy wording or evidence of a benefit in every Vouch proposal. Corix’s management liability page describes an option to use defense counsel outside its panel, subject to conditions such as sharing costs. Crisis-management expenses have sublimits, and pre-claim assistance is an optional extension with its own terms. 37Company-reported. Corix product-page highlights and qualification paragraphs; no numeric sublimit or eligibility assumed. |
| Servicing and renewals | Kinro says it shops at renewal and sends text links to documents and certificates with reminders and coverage support; these are service descriptions, not turnaround guarantees. 1,5Company-reported. Retail service statements; no authenticated customer account or actual renewal inspected. Before sharing business details, note that Kinro separates service texts from marketing consent, while its privacy policy says website activity may be linked to profiles for marketing. 5,7Company-reported. Published consent and privacy terms, not an audit of data practices or consent enforcement; privacy policy effective August 10, 2026. | Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 39,40Company-reported. Service descriptions; no independent proof of completeness, savings or satisfaction of a specific contract. Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 41,42Company-reported. Published COI workflow and distinction between holder and additional insured. Account access and turnaround not tested. Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 29,43Company-reported. Carrier-options service description and 30 July 2025 educational guide. Exact renewal contact cadence and renewal terms not disclosed in these sources. |
| Fees and compensation | Kinro’s terms say it is usually paid a commission by the issuing insurer, included in the insurer-set premium. Its services are free to use unless a fee is disclosed before you agree to pay it. Ask for the commission and any proposed fee for your policy; the terms do not publish an account-specific amount. 6,18,8Company-reported. September 27, 2026 company terms describe buyer fees and insurer-paid commissions; no account-specific fee or commission rate is stated. Separate agency-partner economics are not retail rates. Consultants can use Kinro’s monthly benchmarks—$25–$35 GL, $50–$65 E&O and $90–$105 cyber—as rough market references, not quotes matched to an insurer, limit or deductible. 17Company-reported. One industry-page illustration, not Kinro-wide pricing or a comparable quote; underlying calculation methodology not established. | Vouch Specialty earns commissions on insurance sales and may also receive compensation based on the performance of the products sold. Its disclosure invites questions about compensation on a specific proposal or placement; it does not publish a commission percentage. 23Company-reported. 6 August 2025 disclosure. No zero-fee, fiduciary independence or whole-market claim inferred from independent broker terminology. Vouch may pass through credit-card, debit-card or ACH transaction fees where permitted. Its disclosure lists wire and check as alternatives and says premium financing may be offered through Slash Eureka, Inc., doing business as Ascend, or an affiliate. 23Company-reported. Published payment and finance disclosure, not a verified legal entitlement to charge in any state. No fee schedule, finance APR, total finance cost or individual quote reviewed. |
