Vouch’s Broker Role Is Separate from Corix
Vouch’s current disclosure names Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as its broker. Corix is the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC; Hiscox’s annual report records its acquisition. Those names must not be collapsed into a claim that Hiscox owns the current Vouch brokerage or that one Corix insurer writes every Vouch placement. Vouch describes comparing carrier options, so identify the actual proposed market before evaluating AI wording. 10 20 19 16
Compare the AI Clauses in the Offered Technology Policy
Corix’s cyber/E&O description warns that AI activities and intellectual-property disputes can involve conditions, exclusions or sublimits. Armilla’s brief expressly describes model errors and output liability. That difference justifies reading the documents side by side, but not a conclusion that all Vouch placements restrict AI identically or that Armilla pays every output-related claim. 22 3
A contractual performance warranty is a further distinction. Armilla’s warranty description does not establish the issuer or a buyer’s direct rights against backing insurers. If the customer asks for a refund when accuracy falls short, define that remedy separately from a liability limit quoted through Vouch. 2 4
Assign the Review and Claim Roles
Vouch’s contract service addresses insurance requirements and certificates; Armilla’s assessment investigates model behavior. A certificate can document insurance without changing its terms, and a technical assessment does not itself amend a policy. Ask who translates either review into underwriting-approved wording. 27 29 5
Vouch advertises claims advocacy for clients, while insurer coverage decisions remain separate. If an additional AI contract is purchased, ask whether that advocacy engagement includes coordinating it; no Vouch–Armilla placement or servicing agreement is established by these records. 31 32 6
What Should You Confirm in Armilla and Vouch Quotes?
- Identify the broker, program and insurer, and obtain the precise AI/IP provisions instead of applying Corix marketing to every Vouch option. 16 22
- Separate the contract-requirement review, technical assessment and warranty remedy, with a named owner for each deliverable. 27 5 4
- Confirm California eligibility and incident reporting for each contract, including advocacy scope if more than one insurer is involved. 12 32 1

What each provider documents about the services you may need
| Criteria | Armilla | Vouch |
|---|---|---|
| Business role | Armilla offers AI insurance, performance warranties and model assessments, but the insurer—not the brand—takes on policy risk. Armilla describes its insurance operation as an MGA and Armilla Insurance Services as a Lloyd’s coverholder. 3,1,6Company-reported. Company descriptions of the Armilla brand and insurance operation; delegated authority and producer licensing have not been independently verified. The reviewed corporate record identifies Armilla Insurance Services Inc. but does not establish California insurance authority; verify the licensed producer on your quote. Florida’s registry lists the company as a Delaware corporation. 8Verified. Exact entity spelling in corporate filing F24000002598, inspected on September 16, 2026. No California producer lookup was completed. | Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. 10,16Company-reported. Current 6 August 2025 disclosure takes precedence over the older Terms of Use for current broker identity. No independent corporate registry or license finding implied. Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. 20,10,11Company-reported. Company-reported legal-name continuity. Older Vouch terms still list both producers; do not conflate their NPNs or infer current underwriting ownership from the older name. Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. 18,19Company-reported. Acquirer announcement covers both named entities; audited annual-report note 25 explicitly confirms Corix closing. Does not independently establish the separate carrier transfer date, regulatory approval or any particular policy migration. Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. 21,19Conflicting sources. Conflict is retained and resolved for the article using later transaction evidence; no conclusion that the distribution agreement ended. |
| Access to insurers | Ask for the insurer and syndicate named on your quote: Armilla names certain Lloyd’s underwriters and lists Chaucer, Axis Capital and Convex as backing partners, but does not identify the contracting insurer for each quote. 1,3Company-reported. AI liability only. Partner names do not establish that each participates in every placement; no ratings independently verified. Before relying on a performance warranty, identify who owes the remedy and whether you have rights against a backing insurer; the brief lists Chaucer Group, Greenlight Re and Swiss Re but does not name the legal warranty issuer or California contract. 4Company-reported. Warranty partner disclosure only; no inference that backing partners directly insure the enterprise buyer. | Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. 21Company-reported. Company-described insurer relationships only, not independent verification of admitted status or product authority. No current complete Vouch product/carrier/state matrix found. Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. 35Company-reported. Application SML 10-0002 03 25, printed page 1 of 13, linked from the current management liability product page. This identifies one public program application, not the insurer for every Vouch D&O or employment practices placement. |
| Servicing and renewals | Armilla says buyers begin with an AI risk assessment before it customizes an insurance or warranty proposal. Confirm the assessment deliverables, monitoring and retesting terms in the proposal. 2Company-reported. Initial assessment described on the AI insurance page; reviewed evidence does not establish specific assessment deliverables, monitoring or retesting terms. Price monitoring and retesting separately unless the proposal includes them: reviewed pages do not explain insurance renewal or whether ongoing model monitoring is included in premium. 5,2Not publicly disclosed. Limited to public product and assessment pages reviewed September 16, 2026. | Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. 26,27Company-reported. Service descriptions; no independent proof of completeness, savings or satisfaction of a specific contract. Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. 28,29Company-reported. Published COI workflow and distinction between holder and additional insured. Account access and turnaround not tested. Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. 16,30Company-reported. Carrier-options service description and 30 July 2025 educational guide. Exact renewal contact cadence and renewal terms not disclosed in these sources. |
| Claims assistance | Before a claim, ask who receives notice and manages it: Armilla describes claims reported during the policy period and offers incident coordination, but reviewed pages do not name a claims administrator or provide a complete reporting process. 2,1Company-reported. Public claims framework and incident assistance only; no policy notice provisions or performance evidence reviewed. | Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. 31,32Company-reported. Service/claims-role descriptions, not independently observed performance or a guarantee of claim acceptance. No implication of free legal representation. Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact. 33,34,32Company-reported. Form retrieved through web text; browser screenshot blocked by security challenge. No submission, loss report or receipt tested. Policy-specific notice requirements not established by availability of broker form. |
