Does Product Liability Cover Warning Defects?
Product-liability coverage may defend a claim that an inadequate warning caused injury, subject to the policy’s wording.
A warning-defect claim alleges that a label, manual, or instruction failed to explain a product risk or safe use. The policy’s definition of the product and coverage grant determine whether the claim qualifies; the definition alone does not settle coverage.
Ask the insurer about the product, warning practices, and territory. Preserve label and manual versions, translations, and product-change records, then check exclusions and reporting requirements.
