Can a software vendor assume its technology policy also addresses agency or program work?

Do not assume that. Software, producer services, and delegated work are different operations to describe in the submission; ask the insurer which are listed and how the form treats each.

Describe software, placement, administration, claims, and authority functions separately, including the entity performing each one. Ask the insurer which of those services the application and policy identify.2,3

Request the insuring agreement, professional-services definition, insured-entity schedule, relevant exclusions, and any issued endorsement. A technology or professional-liability label alone is not an answer.4
