When should a device company ask about technology errors and omissions?

Ask when you sell a connected service, host software, integrate systems, or promise technical performance under a customer contract.

Send the statement of work, service description, uptime or security commitments, indemnity clauses, and list of cloud dependencies. A hardware-only product schedule may not describe that work.[4]

Have the broker compare the service allegations addressed by any technology E&O proposal with product, cyber, and general liability forms. Confirm boundaries and exclusions in writing.[4]
