# What Insurance Covers Wire Fraud?

Crime insurance may reimburse a fraudulent wire only when its funds-transfer or computer-fraud coverage matches how the payment was initiated.

A Travelers specimen has separate agreements for funds-transfer fraud and computer fraud; the first addresses specified instructions that fraudulently move money from an insured transfer account. A payment an employee authorized after being deceived may require different wording or an endorsement.

Contact your bank promptly, preserve payment instructions and communications, and notify the insurer within the policy deadline. Ask which transfer accounts, payment methods, and employee actions the quote covers.
